Training Opportunities
Independence Association provides training and education to its employees to enhance job performance. Training and education can take the form of materials to be read by the employee, seminars, workshops, classes, conferences, and internal classes, orientations, or in-services. These trainings fall into two categories; required training and additional training.
Beyond the core trainings, Independence Association seeks to develop staff abilities by providing opportunities for staff to attend workshops and seminars needed for Agency and staff development. These opportunities are handled on an individual basis.
Independence Association encourages employees to participate in career enrichment activities.
Independence Association encourages its employees to make education a "lifelong" experience. In a field that is always growing and changing, it is important to remain up to date on information and skills. The Association maintains a library of journals, books, and publications that are available to staff.
As part of the Employee Evaluation process, employees have the opportunity to review career goals and can explore ways to continue their education and training.
Independence Association offers many of it’s trainings to people outside of our organization. For more information on training or educational opportunities at Independence Association, please contact the Training Coordinator by email or call 207-725-4371.
